The London Auto Index Proposition
A generic listing tells you a name.
A verified record tells you what’s true today.
Prestige car buyers researching Mayfair are frequently served stale aggregator listings, autogenerated dealer pages and outright fabricated addresses by generic search tools. This directory is built the other way round: every entry starts from the manufacturer or dealer’s own page, is cross-checked against Companies House and press coverage, and is explicitly flagged where a business has closed, relocated or gone into administration.

A note on Aston Martin in Mayfair
As of August 2026, Aston Martin does not operate a factory-authorised showroom within Mayfair itself. Stratstone’s former Aston Martin London (Mayfair) and Aston Martin London (Western Avenue) sites have both closed, with Stratstone’s own network now centred on Manchester. Aston Martin’s October 2024 UK retail-expansion announcement referenced a Central London flagship “identified” for future opening, but no confirmed Mayfair address had gone live at time of writing. Check the manufacturer’s live Aston Martin dealer locator before travelling — HWM Aston Martin in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, is currently the nearest Home Counties franchise point.

Central London Luxury Car Logistics
The ownership framework: storage, servicing & the trade
Verified facilities and services relevant to owners without private garaging in Mayfair, where residential parking is scarce and factory-trained servicing is concentrated a short drive south in Wandsworth.
Secure Vehicle Storage
Specialist Maintenance & Detailing
On detailing and paint protection
For ceramic coating and paint-protection film work, obtain a physical inspection quote from an accredited applicator local to Central/South-West London — pricing and product warranty terms vary materially by applicator and are not standardised across the trade, so this guide does not name a single default supplier.
Regulations, Tax & Insurance
The regulatory framework for Mayfair ownership
Quick-reference figures below, each sourced directly from the primary regulator. Rates are reviewed periodically — always confirm the current figure via the official link before relying on it.
ULEZ compliance
The Ultra Low Emission Zone covers all London boroughs (up to, but not including, the M25) and operates 24 hours a day, every day except Christmas Day. Petrol vehicles must meet Euro 4 emissions standards (broadly, registered from 2006) and diesel vehicles must meet Euro 6 (broadly, first used from September 2015) to avoid the daily charge. Most current-production exotics and prestige cars comply as standard, but classic, grey-import and older performance models frequently do not — always check individual vehicle compliance via TfL’s official ULEZ guidance.
Vehicle Excise Duty (VED)
Under GOV.UK’s current vehicle tax rate tables, the standard annual rate for cars first registered on or after 1 April 2017 is £200 (or £110 for six months). Cars — including electric vehicles registered on or after 1 April 2025 — with a list price above £40,000 attract the “expensive car supplement” of £640 a year, payable for five years from the second time the vehicle is taxed. Virtually every new Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini and most Porsche, Range Rover and Mercedes-AMG models exceed this threshold. First-year rates are calculated separately on a CO2-emissions sliding scale. Vehicle tax and registration are managed via the DVLA.
Insurance requirements
High-net-worth motor insurers typically write prestige and exotic cars on an agreed-value basis — an underwritten fixed sum insured, rather than market-value settlement at claim time. Underwriters commonly mandate a Thatcham-categorised tracking device: Category S7 (tracking and 24/7 monitoring, no remote immobilisation) is the entry requirement on many policies, while insurers covering the highest-value or most-targeted models frequently step up to Category S5, which adds Automatic Driver Recognition and remote immobilisation. Overnight garaging requirements are common on high-value policies — many insurers only offer their most competitive terms where the vehicle is kept in a locked garage or secured, access-controlled underground car park overnight, which is one practical reason Mayfair owners without private garaging use the storage facilities above.
Westminster parking
Westminster City Council applies emissions-based on-street parking permit pricing and runs a diesel surcharge scheme adding up to a 50% surcharge on pre-2015 diesel vehicles paying to park, as part of its air-quality programme. New on-street pay-to-park and permit tariffs took effect from March 2026; check current zone-by-zone pricing via Westminster City Council’s parking pages before assuming a flat rate.
Market Trends & the EV Transition
Where Mayfair’s luxury market is moving
Ultra-high-performance EVs
The Rolls-Royce Spectre — the marque’s first series-production all-electric model, launched in 2023 — has since been updated with an extended WLTP range (up to circa 391 miles on the current Series II specification). Porsche’s Taycan remains the default performance-EV entry point for daily-usable Central London ownership, while ultra-low-volume electric hypercars such as Rimac’s Nevera remain a niche, allocation-driven category rather than a showroom-stock proposition in the UK. Always verify current specification via the manufacturer’s official configurator, as figures are periodically revised.
Rentals & bespoke leasing
Beyond outright purchase and PCP/HP finance offered through dealer-affiliated finance arms such as H.R. Owen’s, a secondary market of specialist prestige-car rental and short-lease operators serves Mayfair’s hospitality, events and executive-visitor segment. Independently verify any rental operator’s insurance, deposit and mileage terms in writing before booking — this segment isn’t subject to the same manufacturer-backed protections as a franchised dealer purchase.
Executive chauffeur compliance
Any vehicle used for hire-and-reward chauffeur or executive transport in London — including within Westminster — must be licensed by Transport for London as a private hire vehicle, not by the borough. Since 1 January 2023, all PHVs licensed for the first time must be zero-emission capable and meet at minimum the Euro 6 standard, effectively requiring new chauffeur-fleet entrants to be electric or hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles. Full requirements: TfL’s PHV licensing page.

London Auto Index uses a controlled sourcing process rather than aggregating third-party listings.
Primary sources only
Every address and phone number is taken from the dealer’s or manufacturer’s own current page — never copied from a directory aggregator.
Closure & insolvency checks
Businesses are checked against Companies House and The Gazette. Where a business has closed or entered administration, it is disclosed, not silently dropped.
Regulatory figures at source
ULEZ, VED, insurance and parking figures are drawn directly from TfL, GOV.UK and Westminster City Council, with a link to the primary page on every figure.
